CATEGORIES OF COUNCIL MEMBERS:
There shall be three categories of members of the Council:
- Ordinary members;
- Associated members; and
- Honorary members.
- ORDINARY MEMBERSHIP:
Ordinary membership of the Council shall be open to any individual or legal entity engaged in the business of imports and exports, users of logistics related services, in the context of transport, storage, handling, packaging and logistics of support related services that qualify within an involvement throughout the total logistics chain. - ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP:
The Executive Committee may, at its discretion, invite any corporation established by statute or otherwise which does not qualify to become an ordinary member if its activities relate to the Council to join as an associate member. - HONORARY MEMBERSHIP:
The Executive may confer honorary membership on individuals who have contributed significantly to the Council:-- The Executive may determine the conditions under which members of the Council or the functionaries of members of the Council which have made themselves recommendable to the Council may be nominated as honorary members or may qualify for recognition as an honorary member.
- In order to be nominated as an Honorary Member, the Executive shall apply one or more of the following criteria:-
- The member has been Chairperson or Vice-Chairperson of one of the constituent bodies of the Council and has served for a period of more than five years; and
- The member has represented the Council in an exceptional manner in an organization outsider of the Council.
- A founding member who has been part or partial of the establishment
Honorary members have access to the meetings of the members of the Council or the Executive in which the member had been sitting prior to nomination and has as such an advisory vote.
